I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, regularly earning massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really proceeding.
